Complete and Total Randomness

maybe it's a good thing there's nothing to do tonight, because i have to wake up extra early to meet drew at hollywood video in order to drive to owensboro, ky for orientation. and im not a morning person, at all. let's just say im not looking forward to it.

today i woke up late for class.....and it's a 12 o'clock class. how does that happen exactly? how can you sleep in for a noon class?

i've been pretty busy lately trying to get my stuff together. i have so much catch up work to do for my classes. i technically could be doing all of that right now, but.......hmmmm......no thanks.

i cant help but notice that i've had this blog for nearly two years now. true, i didnt write in it for six months, and i wasnt very faithful to blogging in the beginning, but it has been in existence for almost two years. oh it's going to be exciting on the two year birthday. maybe i'll throw a party for my blog. and we'll have cake. no, pie. because i dont like cake.

in case you havent noticed yet, im babbling on and on about absolutely nothing. that is because my life is a bore and i have nothing exciting to say whatsoever. EXCEPT i think the movie lost in translation was the biggest piece of crap i've seen in a long time. i think it is way overrated. the only reason people say they like it is because somewhere along the line, it became cool and hip to like that movie. and then people were all like, "oh, have you seen lost in translation? it's amazing. it's so amazing. sophia coppola is so amazing." and then other people were like, "oh ya, lost in translation is so brilliant." and then if you think that it ISNT brilliant (like me), you're just not part of the cool crowd. well im going to be daring and declare once and for all that it SUCKS.

i think in my spare time as a teacher, im going to be a film critic. that would be my number two dream job. do you need to go to college for that? probably. i'll have a degree in English with an emphasis on creative writing. does that count?? ohhh let's hope so.

Addicted to the Blog?

well tonight i have a huge headache. i decided to skip on the blogging and go to sleep, but a funny thing happened....i COULDNT. it seems i cant fall asleep without blogging first. maybe i have too much on my mind. maybe my day doesnt feel finished without the blog. i dont know. at any rate, im here. and im blogging. so perhaps this will give me some closure. i dont have anything to say right now. except randy's music is extremely loud and it is irritating me. that is all. here's hoping i fall asleep quickly.

Gettin Lucky in Kentucky

i would just like to point out that the date and time above are INCORRECT. and i dont know why. it is in fact saturday, april 24th, and it is approximately 6 p.m.

so what has been going on since the last time i blogged??? hmm. not a WHOLE lot. i got to watch Big Fish and Love, Actually because beth is able to rent them a week before they actually come out on video. I had seen Love Actually before in the theaters, but I love that movie so i was happy to see it again. and Big Fish was an excellent movie, very sad. katie and i cried.

i have orientation at hollywood video next saturday in owensboro. hooray!! i'll finally be able to start work. that makes me happy!

last night was quite entertaining. i went with kristine and her friends shallon and chrissy to kentucky to visit shallon's cousin and brother. we got lost on the way home, however. THEN when we finally found our way, we got stuck in traffic at 3:30 in the morning!! what are the odds???? apparently, a barge had run into the kentucky/indiana bridge on the ohio river, so they wouldnt let anybody on the bridge. traffic was backed up for miles. we were stuck for an hour and a half...and everyone had their cars turned off. we made friends with a few old truckers who got out of their trucks and were congregating outside our car. a little weird and frightening, but altogether interesting. and shallon is perhaps the cutest girl i've ever met. she had never been through a tollway before, so she didnt know what to do once we got to the toll. she kept yelling, "where's the slot?" ohhhh good times.

today i've done a whole lot of nothing. i have a few papers to write, but i really dont see myself doing that on a saturday. i just dont do things like that. haha. i did watch Mission Impossible today on HBO. It's a good movie, i've seen it before. but i have to admit, no matter how many times i watch it, I never REALLY understand what is going on. for real, what exactly is that all about??

tonight i have no clue what i'll be doing. last night i was supposed to go out with my cousin. i dont think she'll be here tonight. katie is gone. this makes me sad. i'm so lost without katie. at least when she's here we can be bored together.

Braces and Bugs

ok- i have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth...like, behind my teeth. it's basically just one thin wire running across the back of like 5 teeth. now.....what is the purpose in this. and when they say "permanent" do they MEAN permanent??? because let's think about this. i got my braces off in like march of senior year of high school (i think). this was 3 years ago. shouldnt i get this thing out now??? i can't imagine that there are 50 year old people walking around with permanent retainers on the back of their teeth. honestly. who does that?

so, should i go request to have this thing removed from my mouth? i dont go to the orthodontist anymore, although they still hound me to come in for my regular "check-ups" to see how my removable retainer is fitting. ok......do they honestly think i still WEAR my retainer? i stopped wearing that thing like 2 months after i got my braces off. i dont even know where it is anymore. the last couple times i went to the orthodontist....i didnt even bring my retainer with me because i had no clue where it was. and the guy yelled at me. ok, im sorry, but im 20 years old (21 in a month). how long do you expect me to wear this thing??? certainly not my whole life.

and Lord knows i've had ENOUGH of the orthodontics. i got braces on when i was in 4th grade. i got them off in 8th grade, wore a retainer for 2 years and then got braces back on in 10th grade, then finally got them off at the END of senior year. i had braces or some sort of orthodontic device in my mouth for my ENTIRE school career. i've had enough of my orthodontist.

alright. on to my next topic of discussion. katie figured out for me why i am so deathly afraid of bugs. and this really is an unnatural fear. im not talking, "ew, there's a bug." i FREAK OUT and scream and run around like a damn fool and i refuse to go into a room where there is a bug on the wall. and not just huge bugs or spiders...im afraid of freakin ladybugs. i cant kill bugs either. when i try to even come close to them, even if it's just to swat them with a shoe, i literally have a panic attack. i will start breathing really heavily and get shaky and get this horrible feeling in my stomach that they're gonna jump up on me and crawl all over me. i know, this is really weird and psycho.

when i was home for easter, i was going to go to bed, and there was a ladybug in my bedroom. it was on my wall near my dresser. now, any normal person would either kill it or ignore it......no, not me. after freakin out and jumping around thinking i had ladybugs crawling on me, i went to grab a tissue and attempted to kill it. however, i couldnt come nearer than 6 feet to it without hyperventilating. i then had to resort to writing a note to my dad who was in bed, asking him to kill the lady bug when he woke up and then come wake me up........i slept on the couch.

yes, yes. this is strange. so the other night after katie and i saw a bug on katie's wall and i freaked out and ran away and katie killed it, i told her that when i was little and my dad would squish bugs with tissue, he would chase me around the house with it and try to scare me with it. he would make noises like "ugh! watch out, it's still alive!" and then like go to toss it at me like it was going to crawl on me. katie determined this is where my inhuman fear of bugs stems from. and i think she's right.
