"It's Been Awhile...."
so i have my electric piano in my room now! how exciting!! katie and i decided that she should play her recorder with me (she's taking a music class for elem. ed.) and we can have jamming sessions. we even thought we should invite randy and scott down and they can freestyle and have rhyming wars with our music. woohoo. now i have something to get back at randy with. when he's playing his rap music at 3 in the morning in his room and i can clearly hear it....i'll just turn up my piano all the way and play some classical tunes. im sure he'd LOVE that.
oooooh! i got my haircut as well! it was sooooo hard for me to let go of my hair! i got it cut so that it rests right above my shoulders. that doesnt sound short, but it is for me....considering my hair has been practically halfway down my back for most of my life. i guess it's cute though. got some layers in it. i like it a lot, but i admit im looking forward to it growing out again...i just like long hair i cant help it.
well i suppose that it is all i want to say.......hopefully it wont be another month before i write again! i love you all!

Rough couple of days
I had the worst day ever yesterday. I got about 4 hours of sleep and had to wake up at 7:30 to get to work at 9. work was soooo busy and there were only 2 of us! we ran out of receipt paper, the printer jammed, and i got 2 paper cuts on a shopping bag. then, i had to leave by 1 to make it to my final at 1:30. i was a little late and when i got there i had to go to the bathroom soooo bad cuz i had been holding it all day! plus my lips were really chapped and i couldnt find my chapstick. that is the worst feeling in the world! THEN i had a cheap mechanical pencil and the lead kept breaking while i was writing. and then the rest of the day was stressful but i wont get into that.
now, it's friday. katie is getting ready to go home, and all my neighbors are gone already :( it's making me a little upset. i dont want to stay down here. i only get to go home for 4 days. how depressing.
on an uplifting note, i am now single. :) HAPPILY single. just in time for xmas......saves me money. God im evil.

Can it be??? The Blog????
The blog is back!! I can't promise that i'll keep it updated regularly, but i just have to do something right now to distract me from studying for finals.
well....it's been ummmmm almost a year since my last post. a LOT has changed. i live in golden towers now with the wonderful miss katie arnold. we have a ton-o-fun living together.
i have a lot of cool neighbors. they are, of course, all boys. I think i get along with boys better anyway. i dont know why. but my neighbor, randy, is a 6'9'' black dude. he's on USI's basketball team and he kicks ass. i must admit i was a little frightened when i first moved in and saw this giant black man across the hall from me, but Randy is the coolest. except for when he comes over and steals food out of our fridge, or asks me to type things for him. oh ya, and when he plays nintendo he raps with the music.
i work at weatervane in the mall. it's a cool job. but i hate working when i have to work with the big boss man. he asks me to do really stupid stuff like scrape size stickers off the fitting room floors or go around and tuck in all the tags on all our sweaters and jeans. that gets old. but everyone else there is really cool. it's so neat that you can actually get paid in this country to go around and fold clothes.
i have to get some studying done and head over to the convenience store. goodbye.
p.s. in case you haven't seen me in a while, my hair is brown now. THAT'S interesting.

As another year draws to a close here at USI, I cant help but relfect upon what i've learned.................
1. Dont be so eager to find out a secret. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss....
2. Observing Ms. Olssen for my education class is like spending a morning with satan
3. No matter how many times you tell yourself that you're not going to wait until the end of the semester to finish your spanish lab hours (like you did last semester).....you will...... and it will suck
4. It IS possible to go through 3 jobs in one and a half semesters
5. Roscoe, who we all know and love as that black guy with the golden tooth that made omelettes at the loft last year, is now a supervisor at the on campus Burger King. Movin on up man. Movin on up.
6. Driving around for a week with your low fuel light on is NOT a good idea. That will generally make you run out of gas.
7. Running out of gas is NOT cool. Especially when you have to buy a seven dollar gas can just to put in two dollars worth of gas.
8. Even the people who love you the most, can hurt you
9. When I become a teacher (before I get married at least), the kids are gonna have a field day with the name Ms. Kiszka. I'm already getting a lot of Ms. "Kissy-ka"......
uhhhh not fun
10. Stay away from tattoo parlors that keep their instruments on bedroom dressers.
11. If you're ever going to go visit Julie and need directions, make sure she's being supervised while reading a map. Cuz it might take you six hours to get to Purdue. hehe. just kiddin jules :)

I guess it's been a while...like always. im doin really bad on this blogging thing so i might just call it quits. we'll see. i quit my job......which was probably a bad idea because im poor once again, and unable to pay my bills. ohhhhh well. im so excited i get to see eva and chrissy and erica this weekend. im going to ball state cuz its eva's birthday on the 20th! (happy birthday eva!) .........
i started my observing today for my education class. the teacher is SUCH a bitch. i cant stand her. she is so rude to me and her kids. i can understand why everyone hates her. she is so so so so RUDE. i couldnt believe it. now i dread going twice a week. of course its just my luck that i got stuck with a weird lady.
im looking for a full time job this summer back home in lowell.....so if anyone knows of anything let me know!!!! julie im still counting on that flagger job :) ha
oh....another week spent at home with my parents and THEY STILL HAVENT NOTICED MY TATTOO OR MY TONGUE RING. dude.
not much else to talk about i guess.........

so im lovin old country buffet....im making fat tips, suprisingly enough, and i like my co-workers. they're nice. the most interesting part of my job, however, has in fact turned out to be the mexican dishwashers. Everyone else that works there seems to know A LOT of spanish. i dont know what it is about me, but i just can not do it. i cant speak spanish for the life of me. therefore, i look like an ass when i try.
for example, every now and then we have to ask one of the dishwashers to do something for us, like change a pop when it's out or fill the milk machine......and im often the one that is chosen to ask them to do it. i think its because everyone thinks its funny when i try to talk to them. soooo.....i usually go in there and smile and say "leche por favor." or something of that nature that is simple for me to say but gets my point across.
the response to this is normally a lot of stares....a lot of laughing....and a lot of smart-ass spanish responses. once, i had a guy smile at me, nod, and say "ahhhh. si. feliz navidad?" i think he was trying to make fun of me. IM NOT SURE.
i dropped my english class.....so no more brit lit bitch. THANK GOD.

i finally got a job!!! haha. at old country buffet. ya, its not the most prestigous job in the world, but i need money. and it sucks cuz im going to be working every weekend. oh well. anyways, i had my orientation with another guy that just got hired....he's middle aged, and a resident alien from mexico and doesnt speak a word of english. now.......some of you should know what that means. im scared. lets just say i have a frightening history with stuff like this.
i tried speaking some spanish with him when we were sitting in the room alone. but all i got to was like "hablo espanol." and he just started cracking up laughing at me. and then i felt dumb. OH WELL.
nothing too exciting has been going on. its been a while since i blogged, but ive been preoccupied.....anyways im sure i'll have some interesting stories from my first day of work. thats all for now.
